Description
Miniature circuit breakers (MCBs) protect final circuits such as lighting and sockets from overload and short circuit. Moulded case circuit breakers (MCCBs) do the same for larger feeders and machines, with higher ratings and adjustable trips.
We supply both from established brands, rated to your distribution boards, and can advise on discrimination between them.

Before you order
Send us the list of breakers you need: type (MCB or MCCB), current rating, breaking capacity, number of poles and quantity. If you are replacing breakers in an existing board, tell us the brand and model so the new ones fit.
Installation and care
Breakers must be installed by a qualified electrician, rated for the cable and the load they protect. A breaker that trips again and again is warning of a fault: find the cause rather than fitting a larger breaker.

MCB or MCCB?
An MCB protects smaller circuits such as lights and sockets. An MCCB protects larger feeders and machines, with higher ratings and often an adjustable trip.
What is breaking capacity?
The largest fault current the breaker can safely interrupt. It must be at least the fault level at the point where it is installed.
