FM-200 is stored as a liquid in a cylinder and released as a gas into a closed room. It puts out the fire quickly and leaves nothing behind to clean, so equipment can often run again once the room is safe. It is used in server rooms, data centres, control rooms, telecom rooms, electrical rooms and archives.
A system needs an FM-200 gas cylinder with its valve, discharge nozzles in the room, detectors, and an extinguishing control panel that counts down, warns people to leave, and then releases the gas. The room must be sealed, so the gas stays at the right concentration long enough. Read FM-200 Fire Suppression for Server Rooms for more.
Foam systems protect fuel tanks, chemical stores, generator fuel rooms and loading areas. The parts:
An FM-200 system is sized from the room's volume, its use and how well it can be sealed. A foam system is sized from the area to protect and the type of fuel. Send us the room dimensions or the drawing, and we quote the equipment for it.
At the concentrations used to put out fires, FM-200 is designed for rooms where people work. The control panel still gives a warning and a countdown before release, so everyone leaves first. Follow the system's instructions and the warning signs.
The gas has to stay in the room at the right concentration for long enough to put the fire out. Gaps around doors, cable openings and ducts let it escape, so they are sealed or closed when the system is installed.
Our team can install the system on request. Tell us the room size and whether you need a new system or service for an existing one.
It depends on the fuel and on the equipment that will mix the foam. Tell us what is stored and the system you have, and we quote the matching concentrate.
