Description
Intumescent paint looks like an ordinary paint film, but in a fire it swells into a thick, insulating char that keeps structural steel cool enough to carry its load. It is chosen where the steel is on show and should stay slim and neat.
The dry film thickness is set for each steel section and the fire rating required, and applied by spray, brush or roller.
