Description
A compound pressure gauge reads both below and above atmospheric pressure on one dial. It is fitted on the suction side of a fire pump, where the reading can swing from a vacuum when the pump draws from below to positive pressure when the tank is above it.
NFPA 20 requires a compound gauge on the pump suction so the pump's performance can be checked during weekly and annual tests.

Before you order
Tell us the range, the dial size and the connection, and how many gauges you need.
Installation and care
Fit the gauge on the pump suction with an isolating valve or cock, so it can be changed without draining the line. Read it in every pump test, and replace a gauge that does not return to zero.
Common questions
Why use a compound gauge on the pump suction?
The suction pressure can be below or above atmospheric pressure, and a compound gauge reads both.
Which dial size do I need?
63 mm suits panels and small lines. 100 mm is easier to read in a pump room.
Do you have ordinary pressure gauges too?
Ask us with your list, and we quote them.
Specifications vary by model and manufacturer. We confirm the exact model, rating, price and delivery charge in your written quotation.
