Description
A fire rated curtain is a fire-resistant fabric barrier that is stored in a slim box in the ceiling and drops automatically when the fire alarm or a heat sensor operates. It closes large openings, such as atriums, lift lobbies and open-plan areas, where a fire door would not be practical.
Out of sight until it is needed, it lets architects keep open spaces while still meeting the compartment requirements.
