Description
A deluge valve controls a deluge system, in which every nozzle is open. When the fire detection system operates, the valve opens and water discharges from all the nozzles together, covering the whole area at once.
It is used where a fire can spread too fast for ordinary sprinklers: transformers, fuel and chemical stores, and cooling towers.
