A sounder with strobe combines a loud alarm tone with a bright flashing light. The strobe reaches people the sound may not: those with impaired hearing, people wearing ear protection, and anyone in a noisy factory or plant room.
It connects to the fire alarm panel like an ordinary sounder, so one device covers both the audible and the visual warning.
