A fire extinguisher ball bursts when flames reach it, spreading dry powder over the fire and sounding a loud report that warns people nearby. Mounted above a risk, it protects a small area automatically, even when no one is there.
It can also be thrown into a fire by someone who is not trained to use an extinguisher. It suits electrical cabinets, generator enclosures, store rooms and vehicles.

Where it works best
The ball is for small, enclosed spaces where a fire can start with no one around: inside an electrical or meter cabinet, a generator enclosure, a small store room, or a vehicle. Fix it close above the risk, so flames reach it early. It does not replace a portable extinguisher in a room where people work. It adds protection in places people cannot watch.
Installation and care
Use the bracket or stand that comes with it to fix it above the risk, or place it near the risk. Keep it out of direct sun and rain, and check from time to time that it is clean and undamaged. It is not pressurised, so it does not need refilling like an extinguisher. Replace it after it has gone off, or when it reaches the end of the life given by the maker.
