Description
An RPM sensor measures how fast the diesel fire pump engine is turning. The diesel pump controller uses the signal to confirm that the engine has started and to shut it down if it overspeeds.
A faulty speed sensor can stop a diesel pump from starting properly or cause false overspeed alarms. We supply sensors to suit the engine and controller and fit them in the flywheel housing or on the shaft.

Installation and care
The sensor is fitted in the flywheel housing at the gap the engine maker specifies, and the controller's speed reading is checked with the engine running. Keep the connector clean and dry.
