Description
An isolator module divides an addressable fire alarm loop into sections. If a cable is damaged and short-circuits, the isolators on either side disconnect only that section, and every other device on the loop keeps working.
Fire codes require isolators so a single fault cannot disable a large part of the system. They are placed between zones and at regular intervals around the loop.

Before you order
Isolators are made for one panel family, so tell us the addressable panel's brand and model. Count them from your design: usually one between each zone and others at intervals around the loop, so a fault takes out only a small section. Some detector bases and modules have isolators built in, which changes the count.
Installation and care
Fit the isolators in the loop as the design shows, in a back box, panel or on DIN rail. During commissioning, test that a short circuit in one section leaves the rest of the loop working. Our team can install and test the loop on request.

What happens without isolators?
A single short circuit can take out every device on the loop, which may be a large part of the building's fire protection.
Does an isolator reset itself?
Yes. Once the fault is cleared, it reconnects the section automatically.
Are isolators used on conventional systems?
No. They are for addressable loops.
