Description
An output module lets the fire alarm panel act on other building systems when a fire is detected. Its relay can shut down air handling units, release magnetic door holders, bring lifts to the ground floor or signal a fire pump controller.
Programmed at the panel, it makes the fire alarm the centre of the building's response rather than just a siren.

Tell us the panel's brand and model, and what each module will control: fan or air handling unit shutdown, door holders, lift homing, gas valves or a signal to the fire pump controller. Check the voltage and current of the equipment it switches, because the relay contacts have a rating. Large loads are switched through a separate contactor.
Installation and care
Fit the module near the equipment it controls, in a back box or a panel. Program the cause and effect at the panel: which alarm makes which output switch. Test the whole chain during commissioning and at each service, so you know the fan really stops and the doors really close.

Can an output module start a fire pump?
It can send a signal to the fire pump controller, as the design requires. The pump itself is started by its own controller.
What does lift homing mean?
When the fire alarm operates, the lifts are sent to the ground floor and park with the doors open, so no one uses them during the fire.
Does the module power the equipment?
No. It switches a relay contact. The equipment keeps its own power supply.
